Duties & Responsibilities

John Lewis Magna Park is an industry-leading semi-automated facility. The site operates 24-seven with maintenance presence on-site to provide structured planned preventative disciplines and reactive response to a complex building services infrastructure, supporting in excess of £150m of materials handling automation equipment, constantly evolving with continued site development investment.

You will be leading, and developing a team of engineering technicians and assistants to maintain the buildings to a high standard, ensuring all legislative requirements and health and safety governance are met.
You will manage the technical team to deliver engineering regimes - planned, reactive and remedial, across the campus.
Supporting the Engineering Operations Manager in formulating, implementing and achieving the department's business objectives and service level targets,
Maintaining Partnership core values, behaviours and principles and being an ambassador for the department with all stakeholders is fundamental to the role.

Job Requirements

Key activities to include;
- Prioritizing tasks to minimize downtime and operational disruption whilst meeting milestone targets for planned activities.
- Evaluating core skills, influencing improvement plans where necessary to develop team members into truly multi-skilled practitioners, whilst endorsing core values and encouraging engagement to the highest-level.
- Energizing and motivating team members, providing measurable and challenging objectives, empowering Partners to carry responsibility and apply initiative.
- Joint accountability for engineering revenue budget of circa £3m and headcount responsibility for 9 FTEs, with indirect management dotted-lines into resident subcontractor base.
- Evaluating planned, reactive and remedial works, analyzing MTBF data, feeding into capital asset replacement strategy planning.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Strong leadership skills.
Stakeholder management at all levels.
Good working knowledge of Health & Safety
Regulations including MHASAW (1999) and CDM (2015).
High-Level Organizational Skills.
Commercial Awareness.
Performance Management.
MHE fleet experience.
Project Management.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

Engineering, Building Services or Construction experience
CSCS Supervisor / Manager.
Electrical or Mechanical Qualification to Level 3 or equivalent.
Working at Height-trained.
Legionellosis / L8 Certification / Awareness.
Resident Engineering Team Management.
Demonstrable Maintenance Systems and Processes proficiency.
