We have a rapidly expanding digital arm that is blending beautifully with our bricks and mortar to provide seamless and innovative customer experiences.


You will develop the Product vision and strategy for a core part of our digital experience across desktop, tablet, mobile and emerging devices in conjunction with the wider Digital Development leadership team.

Your success in this role will be measured by stretching customer, commercial and partner objectives and key results (OKRs). This role also carries responsibility for a multi-million pound development budget.

Job Requirements


– Defines the overall vision and product strategy for the stream using industry, customer and business insights
– Communicates and updates this regularly to ensure all stakeholders are aligned, have context and understand where we are going
– Developand maintain a suite of analytics and insights across the stream of product usage and performance to measure the success of new developments and inform ongoing roadmaps and investment
– Maintain a view of competitor and technology changes that may create a threat or opportunity for Waitrose and make decisions and recommendations on our response
– Contributes to the digital strategy for the brand working closely with other members of the digital leadership team
– Clearly articulates business and commercial objectives
– Manages people requirements and succession plans to create a high performing team

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- Strong experience in product development role taking a product from idea to live and into ongoing development
– Experience of leading large cross functional teams of creative, technology and analytical people
– Experience of investment management including business case development, budget setting and tracking
– Relevant qualifications for product management and agile methodologies
– Experience analysing and interpreting customer research and data to inform strategic decisions

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

– Experience of working in a start-up, agency or consultancy environment
