What’s the role about?

In this role you will manage the daily operation of the HGV vehicle workshop. The workshop operates nearly 24/7 and maintains a mixed fleet of tractors, trailers, 7.5 tonne trucks and vans. We pride ourselves on the highest standards of compliance, safety and vehicle condition and we're looking for someone who's focus is on developing the team, provide excellent service to internal and external customers and continuously improve the operation. The fleet is varied and includes gas trucks, fridge and double deck trailers and specialised home delivery vans.

What will you be doing?

In this role you will ensure that the quality of workmanship produced meets the appropriate standards for compliance (we're in Earned Recognition) and Safety. You will be responsible for the management and development of the Workshop team maintenance and planning and execution of the fleets allocated to the workshops.
It's also really important you have a customer focus, not exceeding downtime KPIs and working collaboratively with Operations teams to deliver excellent customer service.

To succeed you'll be a great communicator, well organised and able to juggle priorities. You'll have a proven track record of managing workshops, a comprehensive knowledge of the standards required and a real enthusiasm for developing a team to achieve ever higher standards.

What you'll have

Commercial vehicle engineering qualification (NVQ 3) or equivalent.
Certificate of Professional Competence in road transport operations

A proven background in commercial vehicle maintenance experience

Compliance with VOSA standards
Intermediate Excel

What else could you bring?

HNC or above,
LGV C + E driving licence

Advanced Excel and database
Dealer experience
