At a glance

  • Hybrid Working - This is a hybrid working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the London / Bracknell Head Office. 

  • Our Delivery & Operations team currently works from the office 2 - 3 days a week to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings, but again the frequency is dependent on the business needs. 

  • Salary range - The salary range for this role is set at £57,600 - £92,400

  • Contract type - This position is a permanent position.

About the role

As a Delivery and Operations Lead, you will lead and maintain a collection of services within a specific functional domain. You will maintain a holistic view of technical services, projects and outcomes in your area, assuring technical delivery and operational performance of services provisioned via 3rd parties. You will be a key touch point for the business. 

The Delivery Lead will ensure that there is a focused effort in delivering value to the customers in support of our Business goals and will act as an immediate escalation point to unblock issues and impediments.

You will have both depth and breadth in your skills. The depth will be in your core skills. The breadth means that you have sufficient capability in other skills to allow the team to deliver greater value.

You will also focus on developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships, demonstrating effective influencing skills.

What you’ll do

  • Embrace Agile working principles by demonstrating a flexible approach to working, joining missions as needed and / supporting colleagues to achieve the mission

  • SAFe Portfolio Agile advanced background and experience of rolling these capabilities out and developing others in SAFe 

  • Optimise cost of delivery by effectively using Partners and 3rd Parties by finding and removing all waste in the process

  • Ensures all teams / services have clear OKRs

  • Owns ways of working in capabilities and encourages safe experimentation in build and run

  • Implements architectural and business commerce strategy across your area.

  • Inspires and motivates teams focused on creation of value to the Partnership. You are able to work closely with other Delivery & Operations Leads to deliver initiative outcomes for the Business.

  • Mitigate business risk while protecting throughput and business value.

  • Assure operability delivery of your area.

  • Background working in a triumvirate of Product, Engineering and Delivery.

What you’ll have (Essential Skills)

  • Deep understanding & experience of Retail IT initiatives involving cross-functional expertise

  • Significant experience of agile ways of working including, Scrum and Kanban

  • Certification in SAFe agile and proven track record implementing and successfully delivering using these skills

  • Leading teams in SAFe agile and history of developing SAFe methodologies

  • Proven history working in an triumvirate Product Owner, Engineering and Delivery

  • They will have experience in designing and implementing ways of working, different types of work on a number of teams and projects.

  • Has owned business problems and transformed business process with defined business impact

  • Proven history of Business Planning build for multiple years with dependency consideration across the whole business

  • Can plan effectively and is heavily outcome focused

  • Proven stakeholder management skills

  • Has worked in a matrix management environment

  • Demonstrates integrity by efficiently doing the right thing in the face of mounting pressure

  • Demonstrates a high level of personal accountability

  • Display DevOps capability.
