Duties & Responsibilities

We are transforming our digital platform and have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and talented Delivery Lead to join our rapidly expanding Waitrose agile ecommerce team.

As a leader, you will have a passion for delivery and an excellent understanding of how to define and deliver solutions interactively and collaboratively. You will be involved in all areas of delivery, with the capability to mentor and inspire the delivery teams, playing an integral part in helping them continuously improve by sharing your own knowledge, experience and insights.

You will need to be confident in driving to deliver the best possible outcomes, to deliver business value in a high paced environment and always have a focus on quality, ensuring the delivery meets the needs of the business, but is also supportable and maintainable. You will contribute to delivering an exceptional digital experience for our Partners and customers.

Job Requirements

As a delivery lead you will:

Act as scrum master for a self organising development team
Champion agile best practices, support, guide and coach a high performing, multi-disciplinary team, and help embed a culture of continuous improvement
Be a great problem solver, and the ability to remove impediments to enable the optimal productivity of your team.
Work with product owners to translate business requirements into a realistic delivery roadmaps, prioritising the order of work required to deliver maximum business value as early as possible.
Effectively manage team dependencies when, building effective relationships with the other delivery leads , key stakeholders and wider teams
iteratively deliver software which achieves objectives using the appropriate agile methodology ensuring 'just enough' process is used and ensure products can be deployed rapidly, frequently and safely
Measure and analyse team performance to create transparency and predictability across your teams using appropriate tool and metrics including story mapping, roadmaps, sprint plans, burn down charts, and release plans
Be a great team player, celebrating team achievement above individual achievement, and working hard to build effective relationships.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Experience in working in an agile delivery environment
Experience leading a self organising product team
A self-starter and show evidence of learning and adapting your own agile delivery skills. Be able to lead by example and be a servant leader.
Proven record of delivering value to businesses
