At a glance

  • Working pattern/flexible working- this role is based at The Odney Club in Cookham

  • Earliest start time 7 am - Latest finish time 7 pm (occasional later finishes for events)

  • Weekends on a rota basis

  • Flexibility is required to swap days off and weekends if there is a big event

  • Salary range - £24,400- £28,400

  • Contract type- This is a permanent role. Full-time hours - 37.5 hours per week. 

About the role

This exciting permanent role is based at The Odney Club in Cookham, our beautiful John Lewis and Partners hotel, set in 130 acres by the River Thames in Cookham, Berkshire which offers both character and charm. 

  • Working as part of the Conference Centre team to deliver a first-rate customer experience through the focus on selling and the delivery of market-leading customer service to all business delegates.

  • Demonstrating a professional customer service to customers whilst maintaining the administrative functions in line with the Conference Centre requirements.

  • Working as part of the Conference Centre team to deliver a first-rate customer experience through the focus on selling and the delivery of market-leading customer service to all business delegates.

  • Responsible for the administration of Business bookings and meeting rooms, responding to emails, phone calls and in-person meetings to book their conference or meeting room requirements.

  • Meeting and greeting at Reception, query resolution.

  • Liaising with Catering/porters/AVIT etc.

  • Assisting with occasional large-scale events.

  • Having a flexible and agile approach to step in and help the catering operation when required, going above and beyond to make the difference for our guests and visitors.

Essential skills

  • Experience of MICE categories and coordination from start to finish

  • Proven negotiating and contracting experience with external suppliers.

  • Venue booking system experience

Desirable skills

  • Knowledge of meetings & events venues in the UK/overseas

  • Experience in juggling multiple enquiries  and projects with resilience under pressure
