This is a hybrid working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the London/ Head Office. However, there will also be an expectation to visit other locations as the need arises.
The salary range for this role is set at £52,600.00 - £76,400.00

About the role
Our Ethics & Sustainability and Purpose storytelling must reach multiple audiences, both in print and digital.
This role will enhance and defend the reputation of the Partnership across media, digital and external stakeholders in both a creative and compelling way.
You will lead on projects and be involved in planning and creative brainstorming around the best ways to set the Partnership up as a leader in E&S and a business that acts in the right way.
The External Communications team is responsible for all aspects of the external communications strategy for the Partnership and its two brands Waitrose and John Lewis. Our clear ambition is to be the conscience of the business and champion of these brands.
This is brought to life across multiple fronts, with a communications programme that champions positive storytelling, shouts about progressive business initiatives, builds celebratory feel-good moments, campaigns with passion from a position of strength, scale and responsibility, and works hard to mitigate potential risks.
As Communications Manager you will sit within the Sustainability & Purpose communications team which is responsible for E&S and purpose storytelling.
Identify agri-food issues our customers are likely to care about or could affect our business in the future
Ensure that the Partnership's purpose is telling a story which sets us apart
Inspire and guide the business to achieve its goal by differentiating on E&S, agriculture & health and as a business that does the right thing
Hero our reputation in market leading areas within E&S and sustainable and ethical sourcing over the long term
Work collaboratively with your line manager on the development of communications and engagement plans that support our strategy for all audiences
Collaborate across the business with a number of stakeholders to ensure joined up plans
We need somebody filled with energy, creativity and the ability to juggle a number of large projects and leadership at the same time.
Can use a broad range of channels, including social media, to tell our brand stories to build an understanding of our business and enhance our reputation.
A background in news generation, staying on top of the news agenda and identifying opportunities for news jacking at all turns.
Campaign creation, product launches, brand story-telling and a great contacts book across consumer affairs, enviro and social correspondents within the media.
A mixture of in-house and agency experience is desirable, and the ability to work across a number of projects and with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
