BLENDED WORKING - this role is based in Bracknell but we encourage a hybrid working policy so there is flexibility on location.

What’s the role about?

You will be managing a budget in excess of £100m to ensure the costs remain flat year on year. Managing the services & performance provided by JLP’s 3rd Party Suppliers including electricity, gas and water suppliers & the Energy Bureau, to ensure that all account management practices are up to date and commercially relevant for JLP. This includes reviewing month end, approving utilities invoices to ensure they are correctly validated and paid on time, and that JLP’s accounts are correctly populated. You will also be providing specialist commercial analysis services for utilities expenditure to stakeholders within the business.


What you'll be doing?

  • You will be responsible for tendering and agreeing contracts with our utility providers ensuring best value for the Partnership and alignment to the Partnership Hedging procurement policy
  • You will be accountable for ensuring all the utilities spend is within the agreed budget and in line with the Utilities & Hedging Policy.

What you’ll have?

  • Qualified Accountant, or MBA holder, or Part Qualified finalist stage with at least 5 years’ experience of commercial

  • analysis, procurement management and financial management in a business environment.

  • Experience of high value utility contracts, UK energy markets and utilities procurement.


What else you could bring?

  • Working knowledge of the Utilities Industry & supplier management.

  • Awareness of water self supply agreements.

  • Experience of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)

  • Able to deliver complicated messages clearly and concisely to support decision making processes.

  • Comfortable making decisions in time critical processes – e.g. hedging with delegated authority and month ends
