What’s the role about?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our Technology team, responsible for planning and buying the best range for our customers within the category. This is a new role, ideal for someone who is passionate about and has a good understanding of technology and market trends.
What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for the customer proposition and product assortment, ensuring it delivers an easy to shop, inspirational offer to delight our customers when they buy technology products. Your remit will be to deliver agreed KPIs including; Sales, Profit, Stock Margin and achieving required customer metrics and hit rates. Ensuring continuous improvement in the execution of this assortment is critical.
Working with your merchandiser you will maximise opportunities as they arise and lead the in-season trading to potentialise the outcome for both customers and your category. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong commercial and contractual relationships with stakeholders such as suppliers and brands to ensure success driven cross-department working, customer satisfaction and to maximise sales and profit through effective use of trading levers and risk management.
With guidance from your Category Lead, you will be accountable for making all decisions on the product assortment, development, sourcing, brand positioning, price structure and margins to ensure commercial success of the product range. You will ensure your knowledge of the market and its trends is up to date, enabling you to predict future market trends and dynamics.
What you’ll have
A creative eye and a passion for technology products with the ability to resolve problems.
Excellent negotiation skills with suppliers and large brands with the skills to deliver commercial results for the category.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
What else you’ll bring:
Experience working within Technology, a good understanding of the market and its trends would be a bonus.
An understanding of what customers want and need, ensuring continuous improvement to our proposition by working with feedback.
The ability to analyse and interpret different types of complex data to make recommendations.
