What’s the role about?

 

An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Creative & Content Team in our Victoria Head office, as a Brand Copywriting Leader for John Lewis & Partners. 

As an experienced Brand copywriter you will direct and lead a team (including external freelance copywriters) to deliver exceptional copy in response to creative and commercial briefs. Through demonstrating a deep understanding of communication and language, you and your team  will deliver exceptional brand copy for every John Lewis touchpoint, including best in-class marketing campaigns and engaging in-store copy that our customers will love. You will also work closely with senior stakeholders across the Customer directorate and wider business, to understand and interpret our branded content response, tone and expression. This is to ensure that the output of the Brand Copywriting team is on brand, on time and able to inspire and delight our customers.

What will you be doing? 

  • Delivering a high standard of brand copy output that delivers the Partnership brief

  • Managing a team of world-class creative copywriters - including both internal and external freelancers

  • Influencing creative concepts with a brand view always in mind

  • Managing  the creative copy process including responding to briefs and ensuring a seamless workflow

  • Crafting copy for all of John Lewis’ touchpoint including our website, app, emails, social media channels, in our stores and more 

  • Working  closely with channel owners and internal stakeholders to create tailored copy that is always on brand and fit for our unique customers

  • Working alongside our global copywriting team to create impactful and results driven copy for CRM channels

What you’ll have?

  • Managing a team of copywriters for a major brand

  • Experience in brand and creative strategy

  • Experience in writing copy for brand marketing campaign, editorial and creative content

  • Experience in writing for omni-channel, in-store environments and campaigns 

What else could you bring?

  • Experience of managing tone of voice documents for a leading brand

  • Experience of copy writing for a for lifestyle brand

  • Excellent judgement about how to speak to our customers
