Duties & Responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive, creative & experienced assistant designer to join our inhouse design studio.

The successful applicant will assist the Senior Designer in designing and developing exclusive products for the John Lewis formal ranges that meet the brand style, price, quality and fit requirements and in doing so delight our customers.

You will be a person who has strength in research, colour, pattern design & technical product development and can flex their design style to a contemporary or a classic style.

You will also need to be an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
to manage and flex between multiple projects and stakeholders across the Design Studio and within
the buying community.

Job Requirements

Your knowledge of developments/trends will regularly provide our Buying teams with topical information and data needed to support the sales and growth of our own brand range.

You will use CAD systems competently and efficiently to create required work - and be experience across the Adobe Packages, most importantly Illustrator and Photoshop

You will support across all of men's formalwear, utilising your skills in men's tailoring to make recommendations to the business.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- Menswear Tailoring background
- Previous Design Experience
- Fashion/ Design related degree
- Extensive CAD system usage and knowledge.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

-Experience of working with suppliers overseas would be an advantage.
-Fabric and Print Development would be desirable
- Keen understanding of garment components.
