Duties & Responsibilities

Here at Waitrose & Partners, we are currently looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Brand Manager.

As the Assistant Brand Manager you will be responsible for all seasonal events, primarily Christmas & Easter. You will lead the strategy for own brand development, including briefing product developers, applying trends and insight and working with design to create a design scheme and toolkit. This role is also pivital in working with marketing communications to create a comprehensive support programme to maximise the own brand line sales.

This role would suit someone with food brand management experience either in retail or FMCG, with specific experience of customer proposition development for events and experience of the product development process.

Part of the own brand team in Commercial, you will be reporting into one of the brand managers for own brand. This team are responsible for managing the range of own brands, from Heston to Essentials, that drive our differentiation in the market to create winning customer propositions

Job Requirements

Adapts plans in the context of a fast paced marketplace, identifying opportunities to enhance strategic plans, identifying barriers / dependencies /enablers.
Supports the rolling 2-year strategic plan for nominated sub brands and new Own Brand propositions.
Supporting the brand manager to meet and Customer/Commercial Directorate objectives.
Builds strong relationships with Category managers, Planners, Category Pod members and NPD Planning & Programme team to ensure strategic NPD is supported and driven through to implementation effectively and efficiently.
Works collaboratively with key Strategic Input Owners (eg CSR), pre CLT sign off, to ensure sub brand developments and new Own Brand propositions are aligned and costed.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification desirable.
Ideally holds a marketing qualification eg. CIM
Experience of managing Own Brand / FMCG Brands/ large brand events for a business of significant size and complexity
