You'll gain the qualification you need to do the job and the opportunity of securing a permanent Nursery Assistant role with us at the end of your apprenticeship.

What will you learn as part of your apprenticeship?
- To positively interact with our customers in order to support and optimise sales through offering expert knowledge on our Nursery products
- Establish a good rapport with customers and serve them in line with Partnership Values
- Help match products and services to customers' needs
- Support team members to ensure that the services provided are of a high quality, delivered on time and as required
- Minimise the effect of work activities on the environment through managing wastage and loss

Job Requirements

This 12 month apprenticeship will equip you with the skills and knowledge to drive sales, customer service and profit at the nursery. On completion you'll be able to highlight the nursery and its position within the wider JLP horticulture business providing profitable support and solutions to horticulture projects where possible whilst achieving a Level 2 apprenticeship.

You will work alongside Nursery Assistants, Specialists and your Line Manager. They will support you through the programme and help you put into practice what you learn.

Your Line Manager and the external Training company will be working with you and supporting you during your Apprenticeship.

From the beginning, you will start to work through various elements of your programme. This will include a mix of 'on-the-job' and 20% 'off-the-job' training. You'll meet regularly with your Line Manager to plan your learning.

Your work will be varied as an Apprentice Nursery Assistant and responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the maintenance of the Nursery (e.g. weeding, sweeping, planting and tidying etc)
- Customer Service (including operating tills and sales optimisation)
- Stock Control, Inventory and Waste Management
- Goods In, Merchandising and Display
- Compliance with procedures and standards

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- A passion for Retail and Horticulture
- This role is subject to a 2 year pre-employment screening check for internal and external candidates.

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Retail experience
- Previous experience working within a Nursery/Horticulture environment or similar
