This role is a 12 month fixed term contract, known internally as a secondment.

Duties & Responsibilities

In this role, you will analyse, support, challenge, and deliver resilient solutions, which improve efficiencies and accuracy within Product Supply, helping to elevate it to the heart of Modern Waitrose.

Job Requirements

This is a demanding role which requires self management and will suit an individual who can manage their time effectively.
Building relationships at different levels and working collaboratively across directorates is key to success of the role, as communicatiing effectively to the appropriate stakeholders is crucial. Candidates must have the ability to understand complex processes & systems, both from an end-to-end view or low level details and problem solve in a way that drives positive change.

Clear strategic and innovative thinking is a critical requirement of the role as is the ability to access these thoughts and idea from the team. As business needs are constantly changing it is essential that the expertise of the teams keeps ahead of these changes.

Having technical Supply Chain expertise is essential. As is the requirement to ensure it is up-to date, by accessing information outside Waitrose by attending conferences, reading trade journals and networking with competitors or suppliers. Also to develop the reputation of being a subject matter expert for Product Supply.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications


2.2 or higher in a degree with a substantial statistical component


Experience in using sophisticated data extraction and data manipulation tools
Excel: Excellent knowledge of complex functions including pivot tables and V-lookups
Excellent working knowledge of Business Objects

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications


Experience of business analysis in a reporting context (i.e requirements gathering and report development through to production)
Working knowledge of VBA
Strong SQL skills
