Duties & Responsibilities

The Management Accounting team works alongside our Financial Accounting and Finance Operations teams, working closely with the Centre of Planning, Reporting & Analysis and the strategic Finance Business Partnering teams.

Joining the Management Accounting team as an Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

- Delivery of management accounting information for customers across the John Lewis Partnership, including provision of high level insight to the divisional Finance Business Partners.
- Ensuring financial integrity of monthly management accounting information
- Overseeing judgemental accounting areas
- Driving robust accounting processes, information and insight, through subject matter expertise and stakeholder management
- Providing proactive engagement and accounting leadership on growth programmes, projects, commercial propositions and other change initiatives.

Job Requirements

To deliver on these responsibilities, you will need to:
- Understand commercial dynamics and expectations / key drivers of business performance and key events or decisions that will influence the accounts by working closely with finance and operational teams across the Partnership.
- You will have strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex, end to end business and accounting processes.
- You will also have proven experience of financial reporting and analysis while being able to demonstrate experience in stakeholder management and customer service delivery.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

- Part qualified accountant or considerable relevant experience
- Experience of Financial reporting/analysis
- Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and customer service delivery
- Ability to understand complex, end to end business and accounting processes

Required desirable experience skills and qualifications

- Experience of working in a similar role within High-street Retail or FMCG
- Experience or Oracle Financial Systems
