We have a rapidly expanding digital arm that is blending beautifully with our bricks and mortar to provide seamless and innovative customer experiences.


As the Agile coaching lead you will be responsible for defining and delivering a Waitrose wide agile coaching and training strategy that creates organisation agility throughout the business. Work across the organisation coaching digital development and business teams to improve their delivery capabilities. Working one-to-one and with teams, helping people at all levels find better ways of working.

Lead a digital skills initiative across Waitrose to ensure all customer facing partners have the will and skill to use digital technology at work and support our customers to use our digital channels to ensure our outcomes of growing our online business, enabling an omnichannel journey reducing our IT hardware costs in branches can be achieved.

Job Requirements


– Defining and delivering a Waitrose wide agile and digital training strategy that is prioritised around value and funded appropriately.
- Authoring and delivering a Waitrose wide agile training programme and integrating this into our broader learning and development offer with personnel.
- Evangelise agile ways of working across the organisation and industry to drive awareness and adoption, create engagement and ensure we are at the forefront of latest thinking
- Continuously developing and agreeing agile funding and governance models that align with the company investment policy feeding into our broader governance and operating model.
- Partner with personnel to review and redefine the digital partner proposition to ensure it is fit for purpose across the end to end partner lifecycle and drive changes that build retention, career progression and digital talent pools inside and outside the business
- Providing practical and contextual coaching guidance to a number of agile teams, business teams, leadership and the WMB.
- Leading the set up of new agile teams, reviewing ongoing performance of established teams and resetting teams where necessary.

Required essential experience skills and qualifications

– Experience as an agile coach within an enterprise setting
– Agile methodology and coaching qualifications
– Experience of transforming traditional businesses with agile methods
– Knowledge & experience of Agile teachings, approaches, behaviours and of helping both teams and the wider organisation to address the dysfunctions that may result from teams and others misinterpreting, ignoring or rejecting Lean and Agile values and principles.
