Horizons is designed to enhance the career of every Partner in John Lewis, no matter what your job or level of responsibility. If you have the skills and motivation, Horizons will help you to either develop your career in the role you’re recruited to, diversify into another area of the Partnership or progress your career to the next level.
Horizons will work with you and your line manager to support your individual Personal Development Plan, driving development in areas such as technical and leadership skills. The programme focuses on technical and personal effectiveness skills, with leadership elements added for those in managerial roles.
In Personal Effectiveness you will experience courses such as Customers Come First and Improving Teamworking, whilst our Leadership Development courses range from Emotional Intelligence and Leadership to Developing Outstanding Customer Service.
Your introduction to Horizons will start on your very first day when you receive an induction book which sets out the training opportunities you will cover in your first three months. After this, exactly how you choose to use the programme’s many opportunities to realise your full potential will be down to your own dedication, motivation and abilities.
