Section Manager

Our Management Development Programmes (MDPs) are designed to help you equip yourself with the skills you need to take the first step into the management structure as a Section Manager, in charge of a section within a department.

There are specific Management Development Programmes available within our department stores including:

· Selling Section Manager
· Catering

Please note that not all our branches run this programme.
Your training
Most of your training will take place at the sharp end – on the shop floor.

You will gain experience of working in more than one selling department, as well as in some behind-the-scenes functions such as finance and the supply chain. This will be supplemented by formal learning and development, which will teach you all you need to know.

Completely flexible and tailored to your individual needs, the scheme lasts for as long as you need its support. Your Department Manager will be available to offer support and guidance, and the Personnel Manager will be able to advise on your training needs.
If you demonstrate the necessary ability, you can progress to the level of Department Manager – with sole responsibility for running a department and managing a team – and beyond. Promotion depends on your ability to perform the tasks required, and your personal qualities and management skills.
