Temporary Christmas Staff
Christmas is a magical time at John Lewis. Everyone's whistling carols. The shelves are even more colourful than usual. And, most importantly, our stores are packed with people at all times of the day.
The one thing that doesn't change though is the standard of our service. And part of that we put that down to the friendly, helpful people who join us for the season to support our existing teams, and help us give customers a warm welcome and lots of useful advice.
Don't worry if you've never worked in retail before. We will train you to ensure you know what good service means in John Lewis. Before long, you'll be expertly helping customers pick out perfect gifts, choose eye-catching decorations and select tasty treats. And remember – it's not just the customer who'll end up smiling. Everything you do will also be appreciated by their family and friends.
It's hugely satisfying work. But it calls for real flexibility. You could be on the shop floor, working in catering, behind the till or in the stock room. And some stores' Christmas periods are different to others, but they usually start around the end of October and finish on Christmas Eve. Most of them also open earlier than 9am and close long after 5pm. And, of course, we'll want you in on most weekends.
