The John Lewis Partnership is one of the biggest retailers in Britain. It has more than 28 department stores and over 200 Waitrose food shops, as well as other interests including a home furnishing production unit and a farm – all producing a combined annual £8.2 billion gross sales.
The Partnership’s Head Offices support, co-ordinate and develop this extensive operation. We have two London Head Offices, one responsible for the Partnership as a whole and one for the John Lewis division. Our Head Offices at Bracknell focus on Waitrose food shops.
Partners working at Head Office are responsible for influencing the direction and operational effectiveness of our business. We make sure that the widest range of goods are cost-effectively sourced and distributed to our stores. We manage our financial infrastructure. We house an Personnel function which sets the Partner strategy for over 69,000 Partners. We do all this and more.
