Finance and IT
IT
You can’t necessarily see it, but IT influences every aspect of the John Lewis Partnership retail experience.
Just think, IT systems allow our Buyers to analyse sales and trends. They enable us to pay our suppliers efficiently and on time. They help us monitor our store and warehouse stock levels, and plan distribution schedules. They allow us to offer our customers flexible and secure ways to pay.
At Waitrose, our ‘Quick Check’ system makes food shopping quicker and easier. And across the Partnership, our personnel systems give managers the information to ensure there are always enough Partners available to help our customers.
So as you can see, join our IT department and you’ll become a crucial member of one of our most vital teams.

We offer a variety of opportunities within IT including Designers, Analysts, Project Managers, Team Leaders and other technical roles.

Finance
In Finance, we manage and report on the performance of the entire business. It’s down to us to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure we operate appropriate financial controls.
Paying suppliers and Partners on time and making sure we have the resources needed to fund our pension scheme is not only a policy but a principle.
Four distinct teams sit within Finance:
- Waitrose Finance
- John Lewis Finance
- Corporate Finance
- Partnership Services Finance
Corporate Finance looks after the Partnership’s strategic and reporting issues and acts as a specialist provider to the two trading divisions whilst Partenership Services is a shared service team that supports the whole Partnership.
Opportunities
We offer a variety of roles within Finance, ranging from Trainee Accountant to Financial Controller.
