Corporate

‘Corporate’ headquarters based in Victoria Street is essentially the Partnership as a whole. These are the key departments where we have vacancies from time to time:

  • Communications is responsible for our corporate publicity. These can be external, to make sure our latest initiatives reach the media; or internal, such as our in-house publications The Gazette and The Waitrose Chronicle.
     
  • Finance is responsible for day-to-day financial management and future investment including insurance and risk issues.
     
  • Building Group is responsible for selecting sites for new stores and making sure any building works are initiated and completed to specification, as well as looking after our property portfolio, refurbishments and project maintenance.
     
  • Legal handles all legal and compliance issues that affect our business.
     
  • Development is responsible for new business ventures, from start to implementation.
     
  • Personnel sets policies and strategies that are of benefit to our 64,000 Partners. It also manages Partners’ pensions, the medical service, and our residential clubs and leisure activities.
     
  • Registry is responsible for ensuring that the Partnership continues to run as a true industrial democracy, operating to the word of our Constitution and involving people at all levels.
