Here are some of the questions we are regularly asked by people wishing to join us. I hope that the answers we have provided will help to answer any questions you may have.
01 The branch I am looking for is not listed on jlpjobs.com?
All of our store locations are listed on our jobs website. It may be worth checking that you have the correct name from our map on this site. If it is a new branch, we may not have started recruiting. As soon as we start recruiting, it will be added to the site, so it is worthwhile checking back regularly.
02 I have found the branch I want to apply to, but why are there no jobs listed?
If there are no positions listed this usually means that there are no vacancies for that store. Things can change so check back to see if the right vacancy for you appears.
03 Can you send me an application form?
If you would like to apply for a position that you have seen on our website you can apply online. We will then be in contact with you by e-mail.
04 Do you make adjustments for disabled candidates?
We will always make reasonable adjustments for disabled candidates. So please let us know if you require extra support at any stage of the process.
05 Why can't I see any vacancies for my local store on jlpjobs.com?
If your local store does not have any vacancies, they will not be recruiting at this time. Please keep checking the website regularly as the recruitment situation can change frequently.
06 Do you have summer/Christmas holiday jobs available?
Most of our vacancies are for permanent positions, but we do sometimes have temporary positions available in our stores and these will have ‘temporary' in the vacancy title.
07 Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes, but although the selection criteria may be similar, most positions are very different. Please think about the type of role that will suit you and your ultimate goals best, and only apply for appropriate vacancies. If you are invited to interview, we will treat the other applications as a duplicate.
08 How frequently is jlpjobs.com updated?
Our website is constantly updated. Vacancies can be added or removed at any time. It is therefore advisable to check it regularly if you are looking for a particular position.
09 I am having technical difficulties applying online.
To resolve this query please contact our technical team on email support@wcn.co.uk.
10 I am 16 years old and wish to apply for a role?
Although you are already sixteen, until we reach 30 June in this academic year, your local education authority heavily restricts the hours you would be allowed to work. This means that there would not be a match with the rota patterns that we typically look for our part-time assistants to work. Once we reach 30 June, there is no further restriction, and we will be delighted to receive your application.

22 Would I feel lost in a large company like the Partnership?
The John Lewis Partnership defies most conventional ideas about companies. The variety of social activities on offer makes it easy to meet people and make friends.
